South Padre Island is a town in
Cameron County, Texas, United States.
The town is located on Padre Island, a large barrier
island along the Texas Gulf coast. South Padre Island, Texas' premier beach
resort, is famous for the sub-tropical climate that makes it a perfect
year-round holiday destination. Mild semi-arid weather means lots of sunny
days, and while cool north winds may blow for a day or two in the winter
months, the winds make for better deep-sea fishing. The town is really a
holiday centre, and, in the winter, some of the restaurants are
closed. Sea-shell shops abound!
